Our Story
Sometimes the most beautiful journeys begin with a single thread. Mine started at age 34 when I joined my mom and her friends for a quilting weekend – an experience that would forever change the fabric of my life. In just two days, I completed two quilt tops and discovered a passion I never knew existed.
What makes this story even more special is that quilting has become a true family affair. Our "Mom and Me" weekends have grown to include my brother, sister, nieces, son, my great niece, and dear family friends. Watching multiple generations gather around cutting tables, sharing techniques passed down through the years while creating new memories, reminds me daily of why I fell in love with this craft. There's something magical about seeing my great niece look at the sewing machine with the same wonder I did years ago. We are all looking forward to her learning the same skills her great-grandmother perfected decades ago.
What began as a weekend adventure with my mom has blossomed into something much deeper: a love affair with fabric, color, pattern, and the joy of creating something beautiful with my own hands. Each stitch taught me something new, not just about quilting, but about patience (oftentimes the hard way!), creativity, and the profound satisfaction that comes from making something meaningful.
I've learned that quilting is equal parts zen meditation and character-building exercise. When things go sideways – and trust me, they will – you have two faithful friends: your seam ripper (affectionately known as to me as the "The Ripper") and your rotary cutter for those times when starting fresh is the only way forward. There's something oddly therapeutic about ripping out hours of work, knowing that the next attempt will be even better.

We're currently searching for the perfect location to create our cozy neighborhood shop – a space that will be more than just a place to buy fabric, but a creative sanctuary where inspiration flourishes and community thrives. We're here to support your quilting journey, whether you're planning your first sampler quilt or your fiftieth masterpiece.
What Makes Us Special
For Beginners: We remember what it feels like to be overwhelmed by everything! From trying to find the right fabrics, to the deciding on the right pattern, to help you thread that bobbin. Our patient, encouraging approach helps newcomers feel confident taking their first stitches. Wendy is still very much a beginner and still loves to learn new things and learn new ways to do the old things.
